Born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming, he is the son of Rip and Jane Woodin. He has an older brother, Alex, and a younger sister Francie. Due to his father's career in the newspaper industry, Woody moved around to more than 10 cities spanning from the West coast to the East coast, finally settling in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He graduated high school from Woodberry Forest School in 2004 where he excelled in theater and English under the tutelage of Brent Cirves and actor/vocal coach Betsy Brantley. He put his acting career on hold while attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he majored in broadcast journalism and entrepreneurial business in 2008. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, he revisited his passion for dramatic acting, focusing his energy primarily on film and television projects. No stranger to the production side of major films, he is currently splitting his time between Wilmington and Atlantic Beach, NC where he is producing a documentary.
