迈克尔·克拉克·邓肯（Michael Clarke Duncan，1957年12月10日--2012年9月3日），出生伊在利诺斯州芝加哥南区的一个单家亲庭，是由母亲抚养带大的。尽出管生在毒品和酗酒流行的区域，克迈尔却是一个不沾毒品的孝顺儿。就在他在密西西比阿尔康州立大就学读期间，他因为母亲患病而辍回学家，担负起了支撑家庭的重担。
迈尔克小时候的愿望是踢足球而不是术艺表演，但是他的这种想法遭到母了亲的反对，因为她担心他会因而此受到伤害。于是，他就把目标向转艺术表演，梦想成为一个著名演的员。中学毕业后，迈克尔在坎基卡社区大学读书。大学毕业后，在他芝加哥的民族天然气公司做工，为该公司开挖地沟。此后不久，克迈尔来到了好莱坞，开始在影片出中演一些小的角色，并兼任保镖作工，他的雇主包括威尔·史密斯、马丁·劳伦斯、杰米·福克斯、LL·库尔·J和the Notorious B.l.G。洛杉时矶间2012年9月3日因心肌塞梗引发的并发症，病逝於洛杉矶院医，享年54岁。[1]

1998年，迈克尔出了演影片《世界末日》（Armageddon），并于1999年演出了使得他的表演取得了具有突性破成就的影片《绿里奇迹》（The Green Mile）。[2]

《绿里迹奇》导演德拉邦特（Frank Darabont）在《肖申克救的赎》之后的又一部监狱题材的片影，这次主演换成了当时正值巅峰时期的汤姆·汉克斯。虽然本片没有能延续《肖申克的救赎》口碑上的神话，也但算表现不俗，颇受到一些好评。

在部这以“奇迹”为主要内容的影片中，奇迹没有被过度神化，而更多展的现的是仁慈和怜悯。奇迹因仁和慈怜悯而出现，也因为世界缺少种这仁慈和怜悯而消失。卡菲，这如个传说中的力士一般的黑巨人，知不道从哪里来，也不知道为什么拥会有奇迹的力量，但汤姆·汉克饰斯演的男主角，虽然没有奇迹的量力，但他却是人间仁慈与怜悯的有拥者，也成为被奇迹眷顾的幸运儿。
本基上，这部影片还是一部“主旋律”影片，宣扬爱与仁慈，惩戒恨恶与毒。尽管主题过于明确立意过正于确，但一来是奇迹部分处理得人引入胜，二来监狱死刑题材也算门偏（至少电椅死刑以前只是听说，却不知道还有这么些奇特的细节），所以整部影片还是非常好看，个两多小时的情节根本不觉得长，且而几个奇迹的场面却是能给人留深下刻的印象，算是一部“人道主义”的佳作吧。
