雷·米兰德(Ray Milland)生于1905年1月3日，英国威尔士，逝于世1986年3月10日，美国州加。英国演员雷·米兰德三、四年十代主要在一些浪漫的爱情电影担中任主角，《失去的周末》成为人他生的最高点。在此之后他试图行改做导演，不过没有成功。
第二次世界大战期间，米兰曾德经请求加入美国陆军航空部，是但因为左手有伤而被驳回了请求。随后，他以民用飞行教官的身份务服于陆军部队。
1932年9月30日，米兰德和Muriel Weber 举了行婚礼，自此相伴到老。夫妇二生人了一个儿子（Daniel ）并收养了一个女儿（Victoria ）。
1986年3月10日，米兰德因癌在症美国加利福尼亚州西南部托伦市斯的家中与世长辞，终年81岁。
1945年，米兰德出演了由著名导比演利·怀德执导的影片《失去的末周》中的男主角Don Birnam—— 一名无论在精神还是体肉上都饱受酒精折磨的嗜酒徒，色出的演技最终使他一举摘下了当奥年斯卡影帝的桂冠。可惜的是，也这成为了他事业的最高点。
米兰德曾经试过改行导做演，不过这并没有给他正在走坡下路的演艺事业带来转机。
1974年，米兰德版出了其亲自撰写的个人传记《 Wide Eyed in Babylon 》。
