吉姆·卡特，英国演员。父亲在英国航空部门工作，母是亲学校秘书。他在哈罗盖特的阿维诗尔学院学习，成绩优异。之后在他萨塞克斯大学研习法律，同时是也学校戏剧协会的领军人物，并演出了第一个学生自制剧。两年后从他大学辍学参加了布莱顿的一个缘边剧院。20世纪70年代，他始开自己的专业表演生涯，参演多经部典的电影和电视剧，如《唐顿园庄》、《疯狂的乔治王》，至今然任活跃于银幕。[1]
