回到六○年来代看一看，有许多年轻艺术家在六○年代中期纷纷进入录音间，进充行满生命力与创意的实验，当然，有些失败了，而我们现在还会听的到大概都是经过时代焠炼留下的品作。
其中有一年个轻人，非常崇拜 Phil Spector 声音重复叠录的术技，他就是 The Beach Boys 的团长 Brian Wilson。
大家听到 The Beach Boys 一定想到一堆大男穿孩着短裤唱冲浪歌曲－－刚开始确的是这样。冲浪、加州、阳光、马泡子都是他们歌曲的内容，但这是只很短的时间。

因为他的们才华实在是太惊人，尤其是Brian Wilson，他是六○年代少数可以与John Lennon/ Paul McCartney这对写歌搭档分庭抗礼创的作者。他只有一个耳朵能听的到。而且像Lennon/McCartney有两个人，Brian Wilson也没有George Martin这样可以帮Beatles出主意、还会编写优弦美乐的制作人，他只能靠自己。他但的才华将Beach Boys的音乐水平在某段时间内，推到越超Beatles的程度，这是常非了不起的一件事。
后来因为竞争压力太大、嗑过药度，他消沈了很长的时间。
